Castor Plantation
Overview Of The China Environment
According to relevant statistics, the annual demand for castor oil in China is approximately 400,000 tons. However, the actual annual castor oil production in China is less than 200,000 tons. This means that there is a shortage of supply every year. 2/3 of the castor oil that is needed to meet the demand is imported from overseas. Today, there are approximately 20 big and middle-sized castor oil processing factories in China. However, only 8 of those factories can process more than 10,000 tons per year. Due to the shortage of castor seeds, most enterprises are not operating at full capacity. As such, castor plantations will not face difficulty in selling their castor seeds.

China Castor Plantation Development
Castor cultivation, which is quite cost-effective, enables farmers to earn additional revenue. Castor plants can prevent bunds from bursting and they can also be used as firewood. PGCG ventured into China’s castor plantation industry by entering into a Memorandum of Understandingwith the government of Guizhou district in Sinan county to invest in a castor processing plant.

When the plant is fully operational, the county government’s revenue will increase by RMB 4.36 million and 100 new government jobs will be created. The plant will add RMB 265 million in revenue to the local economy while creating 10,000 jobs in the plantation industry.
